Slim, silent and often wall-mountable, they suit bedrooms, hallways and small to medium living areas. Compare wattage, thermostat accuracy, timer, Wi-Fi control and whether the panel can be wall-mounted or freestanding. Hardwired panel heaters must be installed by a registered electrician.

Are panel heaters cheap to run?

Panel heaters use the same power as any other plug-in electric heater of the same wattage. Their advantage is steady, low-wattage background heat (often 400W to 2,400W) with an accurate thermostat, which keeps a well-insulated room at a comfortable temperature without cycling hard. A 7-day timer and app control help you avoid running the heater longer than needed.

Can I wall-mount a panel heater?

Yes. Most panel heaters come with a wall-mounting bracket and matching screws, and sit around 150mm above the floor. Plug-in models can be installed at home following the manufacturer's instructions. Hardwired panel heaters that connect directly to the wiring must be installed by a registered electrician. Keep clearance around the panel as specified in the instructions.
